8 word induction is the same thing as the arm drop, but some people don't know it under that name.

The confusion induction is where you develop a state of confusion in the person and transfer that into a trance state... Like what Erickson did a lot of the time.

The gym class induction, I have no idea ;)

One of the things I enjoy doing is when I do the "arm drop" induction ...while the client is pressing down, I add a bit of confusion by saying "Close your eyes down ...You can feel the floor beneath your feet, you can actually feel the material under your fingers of your other hand, you can feel the air in the room, keep pushing, you can feel the chair behind your head, pushing, pushing, SLEEP!" and down they go.

I've always thought the "gym class induction" referres to the tapes they used to make us listen to in gym. They would have all the kids lay on the floor, shut off all the lights, and they would play a soothing hypnosis tape, relaxing and deepening our relaxation. good ol' days..

I love em all! I wish I could do all of them equally well (gimme a little more time!). The skill I most want to work on is being able to match the right induction to the client. I'm pretty good, but there's always one where you have to smack yourself in the head afterwards, and say, "Of course! It would have been so much simpler...".
