Learn Hypnosis, NLP & Personal Development

Hey Everyone,

First off, thanks for joining the community and as a well for us to all get to know each other I have created this Introduction Thread. Tell us about yourself, what brought you here, how you got into Hypnosis, NLP & Personal Development.

My Introduction:

I'm a 26 year old Certified Hypnotist based out of Columbus, Georgia and I'm also the co-founder of this Community along with Taylor Sherman. I got involved with Hypnosis after losing my love for my previous career which was Real Estate Investing. I have always enjoyed Hypnosis, magic and mentalism and the study of the mind since I was young.

After tons of soul searching I decided to go with my youthful passion and I'm here today. There is more in between, but as you get to know me you'll learn more. I have been heavy into Hypnosis since the age of 18 and have made it my mission to spread the truth about Hypnosis to everyone I can. I love helping people and training people to become the best Hypnotists they can be. This is one of the reasons we started this community.

So who's next?

Heya Folks!

Craigory here from Toronto Ontario!

I joined not too long ago, but this is the first chance I've really had been able to sit down and go through this site. Amazing! Good job fellas!

Stage Hypnosis is just one of those things have I have always enjoyed watching, as much as great illusionists such as David Copperfield, etc.

After attending the C.N.E. in Toronto last year, Hypnotist Mike Mandel was doing a show and asked for volunteers. Now I've always been a little skeptical about it, but non the less, when he asked for volunteers I thought, "why not.. lets see if it works." There is now a video on you tube of me shaking my rear, on stage in front of about 700 people. Needless to say, I've been fascinated ever since!

Since then, I've purchased some materiel. Igor Ledochowski's deep trance training as well as Ormond McGill's Encyclopedia of Stage Hypnotism. I've had a few successful runs and I do quite enjoy it and would love to continue learning and studying as much as I can in this amazing field.

Hi, I'm a 62 year old grandfather. I've been into hypnosis since high school, which I learned from mail order books.
I never thought about all the wonderful uses for it until my daughter was diagnosed with MS. I took an online course to learn how to do therapy for her anxiety and help with pain control. I've found it to be useful for several friends who had cancer and even used it for pain from my own cancer surgery.
The recreational aspects intrigue me also, especially since I've found I can do this online. Unfortunately, I live in Indiana, with regressive laws about certification. But, they can't take my skills and knowledge away if I don't charge. Hopefully the law will be changed soon, I hear some people are attempting to accomplish that now.
I hope to be an active member and learn and trade knowledge with you all.

Hey tomb,

Welcome to the community! I hope that your daughter is getting a lot of uses out of hypnosis, since I know that people with MS can definitely benefit from the restorative capacities of hypnotic suggestions. The person that runs the Clinical Hypnosis group, Seth-Deborah Roth, is an expert in medical hypnosis so you may want to seek out her knowledge in that area.

Work within the laws of your state, but keep looking for ways to be able to help people even within those laws. I'm not familiar with them, but I'm sure there's got to be *some* way to practice hypnosis and still charge for it, even if you have to call it a different name.

Let us know what we can do to help you along your journey ;)

Best wishes,

Taylor

Hello everyone, my name is Daniel and I'm currently trying to figure out how I can become a certified hypnotist. I'm 21 and I live outside of Chicago. I really have my eyes set on purchasing the complete home study course from the Omni Hypnosis Center because I really like how Gerald Kein teaches. I've also already watched the 18 DVD beginners & advanced courses. Money is the only thing holding me back right now.

I do have a little practice hypnotizing people. So far I've had 3 subjects and the sessions have gone very well. I'm not getting paid and the only thing I've done is get people into a deeper trance for relaxation purposes. I figure that I shouldn't play around until I'm certified. I look forward to meeting all of you here :)

Hey Daniel,

Well if you want to become a certified hypnotist, fly out to Hawaii this October, I'm giving a training out there ;) Other times they're in DC area though, so maybe cheaper to get to.

Welcome to the community! Keep practicing because that is what will get you good... the person who can do the most and work with the most people is going to usually be more skilled.

Shoot me a message if you need anything, and have fun here!

Taylor

Thanks for this site. The groups look really interesting and I'm looking forward to finding out more. I am just starting out as a Clinical Hypnotherapist. I have worked with a couple of hypnotherapists in the past and never intended to pursue this path, but the right teachers came along......

Hi all. I've been lurking for awhile, I know, I know. So, here's a bit about me.

When I was a kid, my dad was always getting books and gadgets in the mail that had to do with developing one's mental powers. I inherited his curiosity and most of his books. Many of them were rubbish but a few were surprisingly authentic. Back in the '80's, I attended Tony Robbins' FireWalk seminars and got my first introduction to NLP. Over the years, I've known friends who did a bit of hypnosis for fun, but I never thought I could do it myself. Now that there's hypnosis videos on the internet, I've rekindled my interest. I bought some books, bought some classes, and now I am practicing with other hypnotists every week at an informal gathering and learning more all the time. So I guess that puts me at Experienced Beginner.

My current interests include NLP, conversational hypnosis, indirect hypnosis, covert hypnosis, erotic hypnosis, speed induction, open-eye induction, influence, deception detection, cold reading.
