Hey furgaan? Well im also beginner but in my experience, instant and rapid inductions work way better than relaxation. Honestly, im not sure about eye fixation cuz ive never tryed it. But instant inductions have something interesting: they dont have time to think. To think, be afraid or even relax if they are not able to relax or they dont know how. I have tryed to hypnotize people whom cant go into hypnosis cuz they cant relax because os stress or something. And the best is an instant induction. And personally the one that works best 4 me is the arm drop induction. Try it!!!

Hi, Rich, I'm also a beginner. I think, it's the best for you to try relaxation or eye fixation first, it takes longer for your subject to go into trance, but for me, it works best. Instant and rapid inductions needs the hypnotist's confidence, and as you never hypnotize someone, i think there would be some nervousness on you.Have you tried self-hypnosis? many senior hypnotists suggest the beginner hypnotist to do this first to experience the hypnosis trance.

Have any of you heard about Taurus do Brasil or John Milton?

Well here is my question.
A lady called me. Someone told her that I do hypnosis.
And she wants her son to stop smoking and drinking.
Sounds good to this point.

I went to meet this guy and he had a car accident years ago.
And now he has a hard time to control right his left hand and leg.
He's not as mature as he was. But he's still studying and doing a career.
I made him feel better and now he wants to take a shower in the mornings. And so. But I would love to know what you think about his case. I promised to his mom I'll try to help. He had physical therapy for years. But I know for sure hypnosis would be a tool to make him recover a lot of what he lost.

How would you try to help this guy?

Thanks

Which induction were you using? if you read some of th answers I was giving to Alex it should help. Generally you have to make sure of 3 things..1) They WANT to experience hypnosis, 2) they have no fears, anxiety's, worries about hypnosis and 3)that they are following your every instruction. It is very important to give a pre-talk to th subjects to get rid of any of these fears and to make sure they really know what hypnosis is. If you have any more questions i'll answer them the best I can.

I was trying to do instant and rapid induction to two of my students and it only works on one of them. the one that could not hypnotized was fail on the suggestibility test. How can I hypnotize this person?
Ben Paul Forsyth Comment by Ben Paul Forsyth on February 11, 2010 at 4:53am
Good question...Basically those suggestions are aimed at the subconscious, hypnosis gets people down to a level where these suggestions can be accepted more easily. In a state of full awareness if someone said to you "you will not know what comes between the numbers 3 and 5" you would probably laugh. But in this deep state of relaxation it becomes easier to forget the numbers than it is to remember them. The mind is so relaxed that it just goes along with whatever suggestion is thrown at it (to a certain extent obviously). Hypnosis breaks down the barrier of logical reasoning and of what the mind usually understands to be normal. I have worked with clients who believed they were not in hypnosis until I had them count backwards from a 100 (end of the Elman induction) and then forget what comes after 96, and no matter how hard thy tried to remember those numbers, they couldn't. And this was someone who was so stubborn and really though to even get into a state of trance, but now he is a believer. I think it's all about experience, once you have used hypnosis on a large amount of people and get feedback from them, you will start to learn what it is they are feeling and are aware of. Maybe you could ask a few people in this community what it felt like for them when in Hypnosis?? you might get some interesting answers.

Actually... You got a very interesting point. I was expecting to feel between very relaxed and kind of gone. And with instant inductions I've heard thatpeople feel like their bodies get completely loose. But I didn't feel that. I just saw an woman induction in a video and Reyes to follow it. At the end this guy tells that a lot of people thinks they didn't go into hypnosis. But if I'm aware of everything... What's going on when you're saying: " now number two is gone". I mean in what moment will I accept that suggestion or what am I suppossed to feel when someone makes a suggestion? Cuz I feel exactly the same way. I mean I feel I have my eyes closed because I want to feel hypnosis and not cuz I'm into it. I hope I can explain myself. Thanks again

No problem, I hope I could help in some way. Let me ask you one question..what were you expecting to feel? remember hypnotic trance lies somewhere between wake and sleep. The way I like to describe the 'feeling' of hypnosis is "you are still aware of what's happening around you, you just don't care" a lot of people feel they weren't in hypnosis because they knew what was happening, because they weren't 'asleep', this is a common mis-conception. although you can produce Amnesia through hypnosis, in general circumstances they will remember everything, they will just say "that felt weird"..or something along those lines...When you do an arm drop, arm pull, eye fixation etc. they will still be 'awake' but you are on a level where you are talking to their subconscious, and this is where the changes happen. You should try a 'progressive relaxation induction for yourself and try to get the feeling that you are aiming to achieve with other people, I think this will help you, good luck Alejandro.
