Learn Hypnosis, NLP & Personal Development

Hey all,

I figure since we started a discussion on the pre-talk that I would continue on it. And later, as Johnny Rich has pointed out, we will discuss how to prevent "false" memory syndrome.

But for now, enjoy the following excerpt from our "pre-talk for age regression hypnosis DVD program guidebook."

-----------------------------------

...“Most hypnosis tries to re-arrange your subconscious programming, but without regard to why that feeling that you just reported to me in your (stomach or chest, throat, etc…) is there, and it may compete and conflict with it. We don’t want to do that. I would rather help you release that feeling so you can feel good about doing what you want to do.”

With this explanation, the caller immediately gets the idea that her work with Randy will be about releasing and cleansing those feelings, then moving forward.

Matt has a slightly different technique, but notice how both approaches are leading towards the same destination. Matt likes to say, “You must enter their world before you bring them into yours.” He does this beautifully on the phone in this way:

“There are many different ways to do hypnosis and many roads lead to Rome. In particular I like to focus on 2 types of Hypnosis: Direct Suggestion Hypnosis and Age Regression Hypnosis. Direct Suggestion Hypnosis is the traditional way of doing Hypnosis. That’s when the hypnotist helps guide you into a trance-like state and then gives you suggestions for the changes you want. This, in and of itself, is very effective, especially when you have an experienced hypnotist who is a great listener. They can place what you’re saying into words and imagery that can be embedded deep into your subconscious mind in ways that are best suited for you.

However, there are times when a person’s Subconscious “anchors” to a particular behavior or perception are so deeply rooted that even in the deepest of trance states, suggestions would be ineffective, or only effective in the short term. For these clients, I may revert to a deeper tool or technique, like Age Regression Hypnosis or EFT (this will often lead to them asking me what EFT is-- I willingly tell them) so that we can first clear out the “cup”, the feelings and perceptions which are rooted in the SCM. After the release of these perceptions, quite often you will naturally make choices and create a set of behaviors that are more in alignment with who you really are.”

These statements set you and the client up for success. If you are a hypnotist who enjoys doing Direct Suggestion Hypnosis, the client knows that you are a master at it. It also lets them know that if they need anything deeper, like age regression or EFT, then you are the person to come to. Clients, after this conversation, will often realize that they need a “deeper” technique then traditional Direct Suggestion, and will say something like “Age Regression is what I need!”

You can already see from what we’ve discussed so far that the Pre-talk goes way beyond dispelling fears and misconceptions. We are setting up the client for success, whether that success comes through Direct Suggestion Hypnosis, or the Regression hypnosis that we love so much.

Hi Matt,

Once again another interesting post and something I have always told my students. We need to stop thinking that one style or one technique is the way to go and learn how to combine the tools we have to help the client reach their outcome. So many people get caught up in what style or technique they like, but forget the outcome of the client is what we need to be focused on. When you need Direct Suggestion it's there and when you need Regression work it's there. You are a much stronger Hypnotists when you have more than one tool for a job.
