Has anyone seen the film, 'Altered States'? An old William Hurt movie - anyway William Hurt is very interested in what happens to the brain in altered states, and in the movie he spends time in an isolation tank - regressing back to early man - he also spends time with a tribe in Mexico and drinks this concoction to help him have a spiritual experience, another 'altered state' - I regularly meditate - I also do 'breathwork' - a trance state for the purpose of a spiritual experience and moving toward enlightenment - I have had very interesting experiences - I'm considering a 'Vision Quest' maybe next year

Hi James - my wife has gone on several investigations and I have to admit, she's talked me into going with her on a couple of occasions - I kind of tease her about it sometimes, like when I take out my cell phone and say 'I'm hearing voices coming from this'!

Welcome, Josh!

I'm scheduled to go out with a paranormal investigation group this Friday to a treacherous section of road here that has claimed many lives. I think there's also been several murders there.

One member is a medium, and he does spirit release psychically. He wants me to join them to work from a clinical side.

I am going to videotape the event with my camcorder with NightShot.

Sounds fun, huh?

Hey James,

Thanks for starting this group as I have to admit this subject does interest me. I have read a few case studies on these subjects as well as Past Lives and while I don't believe in past lives I do believe their is something strange going on in a small number of cases.

My view is the same for spirt Releasement. I have read a couple of cases and find this to be interesting, but how real is it? That is the purpose for me joining this group as I'm interesting in learning more.

Greetings, all! I'm glad you decided to join me.

The purpose of this group is to provide an open forum for the discuss of Spirit Releasement Therapy®, made popular by Edith Fiore, Irene Hickman, Shakuntala Modi (among others) and trademarked by William and Judith Baldwin.

I was introduced to SRT a few years back when I went for some advanced hypnosis training. The concept fascinated me, so I began studying it.

The first book I read was Remarkable Healings, by Shakuntala Modi. While not really a "technique manual", it is ripe with case studies (I'll post a complete review soon). The topic really resonated with me, and I began to dig deeper.

I then began to research William Baldwin's work on SRT, and found it to be the "gold standard". His book Spirit Releasement Therapy: A Technique Manual is a must-read for anyone interested in this subject (again, I'll post a full review soon).

As this group grows, I hope to read and share ideas, techniques, stories and case studies.
